Schoonmaker Electro Mechanical, Inc. (SEM inc.) is a long standing small business that offers its expertise in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, repair, installation, and General Contracting for commercial and Government agencies at all levels. SEM inc. was started as an electrical service company with one employee. Through the years we have grown and diversified to become a general contractor specializing in electrical and HVAC installation and repair, with contracts up to five million. SEM inc. is locally owned and operated. SEM inc. has over twenty years of experience in installation and maintenance at government facilities, and over 50 years experience in the Electrical field. We are currently working at Hill Air Force Base as a General Contractor and sub contractor on a variety of projects. We also enjoy a wonderful working relationship with: Davis County, Weber County, Ogden County, The Utah National Guard, and The Internal Revenue Service Center. 
At Hill Air Force Base we work as a General Contractor, Electrical and Mechanical contractor. One of our most recent jobs is Building 430 remodel. We are the General Contractor on this contract. SEM inc. personally completed the Electrical wiring, mechanical, HVAC controls, fire alarm system, and some of the carpentry. At the UTTR bombing range in Dugway, Utah we have built small structures from the ground up, including all wiring, carpentry and mechanical HVAC work. For Ogden, Davis, and Weber County School District we work on wiring upgrades and HVAC upgrades. We also currently have a service contract with Weber School District to include all minor repairs of structure and wiring. The business was started by Kenneth Schoonmaker in 1953. Kenneth worked a full time job as a facility engineer for the US Army Supply Center and operated his business as a second job for extra money. In 1979 Kenneth retired from the government and started to run the company full time, along with his son, Michael. In 1989 SEM inc. was incorporated in the state of Utah. From that time forward the company has grown each and every year. The company is currently run by president and owner, Michael Schoonmaker. Michael is a Utah licensed General Contractor, a licensed master electrician, and also has a strong background in the mechanical field.
